Breast Lift

Breast Lift
A full and firm breast is considered one of the most important signs of femininity for every woman. However, some sagging in the breasts can disrupt these features, reducing their aesthetic appeal. This sagging may occur due to significant weight loss after obesity surgeries, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, or it may be hereditary within family members, causing structural changes in the breasts and altering their size over time.
Causes of Breast Sagging:
- Aging and growing older.
- Large breast size due to excessive weight gain and obesity.
- Frequent smoking and excessive consumption of alcohol or drugs.
- Excessive exposure to sunlight.
- Reaching menopause and hormonal changes.
- Failure of silicone implants, leading to breast sagging.
- Breastfeeding, which can cause sagging in some women.
Pre-Surgery Instructions for Breast Lift:
Before undergoing a breast lift procedure, you must first determine the type and degree of sagging. Does it require surgery, or can it be managed with weight loss and specific exercises? You should also:
- Consult a general surgeon regarding your breast condition and undergo necessary physical and laboratory tests to evaluate any medical conditions that may interfere with surgery.
- Stop taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or green tea regularly at least two weeks before the procedure to avoid excessive bleeding during and after surgery.
- Stop smoking and consuming alcohol at least two weeks before the scheduled procedure.
- Inform the surgeon about your family medical history and any hereditary diseases.
Difference Between Breast Lift and Breast Reduction:
The key difference between these two procedures is that a breast lift focuses only on removing excess skin, not breast tissue or fat, unless necessary or requested by the patient. In contrast, breast reduction involves reshaping and reducing the internal breast tissue, not just modifying its external appearance. However, both procedures ultimately aim to enhance the breast's aesthetic appeal and femininity. In some cases, they can be performed together if required.
